CHRISTOPHER TRUCKING, INC. MINUTES AND MEETING INFORMATION
April 30, 2017

DISCUSSION:
Online Safety Classes – Drivers were informed that they must be more timely in completing their assigned classes. Each month new classes are assigned; must complete the previous month’s classes by end of each month or receive a warning.
Employee Handbook – CTI Employee Handbook was distributed to drivers. Lynette highlighted and discussed some of the materiel that’s included in the handbook. Each driver signed and submitted a document indicating they had received a copy of the handbook. Drivers informed that when/if there are addendums to the handbook; the updated information will be distributed so that they can add to their handbook. The handbook is also on the CTI Website.
Omnitrac VIR – Effective immediately must use Omnitrac to input Pre and Post trip information daily. When arrive at lot inspect truck and trailer (Pre); when switch out trailers at drop, inspect trailers only; when return to yard, inspect truck (Post). New trailers have extra safety latch, during Pre-trip make sure safety latch is hooked. Officially log in after attaining paperwork.
Seatbelts – Are to be worn at all times, even on the lot (if truck in motion, seatbelt should be on).
Parking Lot – It has been reported that drivers are not stopping or roll stopping at stop sign when leaving the parking lot (Kings Pointe); also, making illegal turn on John Young Parkway in the middle across from Annex. Be aware that this is illegal – DON’T DO IT!!
Accident Packet – Each truck should have an accident packet (if you don’t have one in truck, inform Lynette and they are also available in Hub office) and readily available (know where it is in the truck).
Environment – While over-the-road be very vigilant about your environment – beware of animals in the road; smoke and glare (if the smoke/glare impair your vision, call Linehaul, pull over until the situation improve. Drivers expressed their concern regarding running out of hours. Lynette informed them that safety is most important and if necessary use 16-hour rule (this rule can only be used once monthly, but SAFETY first; anything else can be worked out).
Truck Equipment – Do not alter installed equipment in the truck, i.e. camera (CTI staff are able to see what you are doing at any time), computer, etc. If there is an issue with the equipment, contact Lynette or Mr. Christopher immediately. Tampering with equipment is cause for immediate termination.
Website – CTI website (http://www.christophertruckinginc.com) has been updated and drivers were asked to register:
User Name: Full Name
Password: Driver ID # (or personal choice)
Request for time off (calendar indicates days that are already taken, therefore you must check calendar before requesting time off), uniform order, direct deposit, etc. forms can be filled out and submitted on the website. Although the Timesheet and Maintenance Report are on website, at this time we are requesting that drivers continue to fill out paper timesheets. Our goal is to lessen the paperwork and we are still figuring out the best way to do that.
Distracted Driving – Prevention is key; be prepared before getting on the road – seatbelt on; cell phone (Bluetooth should be on before leaving parking lot); maintain safe speed and following distance, etc. PAY ATTENTION TO THE ROAD AT ALL TIMES!! A short video was shown indicating examples distractions while driving.
Fitness – Complimentary 3-Day Workout Pass from LA Fitness was distributed to drivers. Mr. Graham, Sales Counselor, stated that if drivers come to the Winter Garden facility on Daniels Road and speak to him he would extend the complimentary pass to a week.
Other Discussions:
Each driver was given a bag containing supplies for the truck. Make sure you keep up with things that belong in the truck (tools, flashlights, booklets, etc.). Promptly report to Lynette things that are needed for truck (anti-freeze, bulbs, fuses, etc.). When using truck other than assigned truck, make sure truck is returned in the same manner you took it (fueled, clean, etc.)
Lynette discussed the importance of HOS and reiterated the fact that drivers should be mindful of both violations and consequences for the company (what happens to one affects all).
The importance of documenting the name of person you speak to when an issue/incident occur in order to have a paper trail was discussed.
It was discussed the difference between major and minor defects during Pre/Post trip inspections.

124816 – Tire pressure low
115358 – Tire problem
Airline Hose – needed for all trucks
Bungie Cords – Joseph Simon need for spare tire
Love Bug Solution– Fill reservoir with water and add a few drops of dish detergent
Truck Wash – if possible, have trucks wash and submit ticket for reimbursement
