SAFETY REMINDER
Today, one of our drivers left the truck to get a fuel receipt, when he returned to the truck and did a walk-around (as the procedure states) he discovered that the 5th wheel latch had been pulled. Imagine the disaster this could have caused if the driver had neglected to follow the procedure, which is: If you leave the truck for any reason, always do a walk-around inspection (check 5th wheel latches, safety dolly chains, etc.) to make sure everything is secured before continuing the run.
A whole other situation was averted because PROCEDURE was followed. I am taking this opportunity once again to remind you the importance of following proper procedure. Thank you for your expected alertness and actions regarding SAFETY.
