We received the following information regarding National Roadside Inspection Week, please read and make sure you are prepared in case you are pulled over for inspection.
***********************************************************************************************
Not only is next week the kick off of safety week, the Florida Truck Driving Championships start with FXG having 37 of the 261 professional drivers competing but it is also Roadside Inspection week on a national bases.
Department of Transportation, Highway Patrol and Local authorities will be looking at:
a) drivers speed,
b) appear of units,
c) safe behaviors and
d) other items that might trigger the driver to be pulled over for an inspection.
The focus this year is Hours Of Service and fatigue. With that said please communicate this to your CSP and drivers:
1) Is their ELD working,
2) Do they understand ELD and how it works,
3) Do they know how to print a report,
4) Do they have back up (paper) logs in case the ELD goes down,
5) Do they have the ELD instructions in the cab in case the officer asks?
And as a reminder to wear their seatbelt it is the law and they save lives. Please get the message out to LH and P&D as well.
