ELD may freeze up on you from time to time. This sometimes come from trying to use it before it has fully had a chance to boot up. As everyone knows, most of our trucks have kill switches that can be use if the computer freezes. Just turn the kill switch to off and wait about 2-4 minutes, then turn kill switch to on again and let the ELD reboot itself again. The International doesn't have a kill switch, so to stop that ELD from freezing, you have to just wait for it to fully boot up. If not it will freeze and stay frozen. Which means you will have to do a paper log. It takes an ELD around 5-10 minutes to fully boot up. That is enough time to do most of your pretrip. No one should be trying to login while the ELD is trying to load up.
Unassigned Driver. Before you accept or approve anything, PLEASE READ IT FIRST!!! If you have Unassigned driving come up, hit REJECT and put in dialog box that "truck was in shop" or "shop". You may have Unassigned driving to pop up 1 time or 10 times, but for each one you REJECT it and put "shop" in dialog box. Failure to do so will put you in "VIOLATION" and cause you to have to do a paper log which will be required to be turned in before the end of the week. Failure to turn in correct logs will lead to you being WRITTEN UP!!!!
